The art center applied for a Summer Intern grant from the Dane G. Hansen
Foundation for a student from any university to assist us in marketing the center. Staff interviewed several students and both the organization and student had to agree that this was a good match for their skills. The student was to live in the community and Janice Zamecnik offered her rental home for housing. Everyday the staff and Morgan Choitz worked together on various projects. She began with designing a logo for the Bowl Plaza public restroom, rack card, signage (photo above) and even painted the donation box. She designed a new art center main logo, web site layout, business cards and informational brochure. Next, Morgan designed four new t-shirts for the gift area, and tackled new front signage on all three of the art center buildings.
From June through mid-August it was a whirlwind at the art center with our summer intern, Morgan Choitz, from Hays,Kansas. She is a graphic design student at Fort
Hays State University, who is a bright, creative, action-packed, talented, driven, dynamo of a young woman.
She received an A+ for this internship from the staff and community.
