About the event

STILL ON THE HILL music duo to perform on April 1st in Lucas!

The public is invited to enjoy the folk duo STILL ON THE HILL, who will be performing at the Lucas Area Community Theatre on April 1st from 4 – 5:30 pm.

This performance is part of the Lucas “April Fools-A-Palooza” art celebration going on all that day, and is open to anyone, free of charge, although donations will be accepted.

Kelly and Donna Mulhollan perform original songs from coast to coast and in Europe, using instruments made by Ed Stilley, an Arkansas folk artist, (1930-2019) who created them out of scrap wood and metal objects.  His instruments will be the featured exhibit “Wood and Wire”, at the Grassroots Art Center from April 1st to July 31st, 2023.

With nine acclaimed CDs to their credit, two of which focus on Ozark people and places, they received the Governor’s Folklife Award in 2010 for their efforts to preserve Ozark traditions.  Their performance aims to inspire us all to celebrate what makes our region unique. They will share stories of Ed Stilley and his instruments, weaving songs into their stories.

Sound files of some of the instruments they will play can be heard on their website:  stillonthehill.com/edstilley and on Spotify.  Blue Gold Tours, Inc, No Limit Adventures, Inc., and Grassroots Art Center Lucas, KS partially funded this performance and exhibit.
