Armin & Norma Meitler

The Meitler's (deceased) lived and farmed in Lincoln county for most of their lives. Each day was an adventure in discovering nature and the secrets that lie therein. Armin was always looking for the perfect piece of found wood that could become the perfect bird.

He carved hundreds, perhaps even thousands of birds in his lifetime and Norma was the painter.

Armin and Norma worked as a team and their specialty was in creating all types of birds. They read about birds and knew each intricate detail of the bird's shape, habits, and even knew many native bird calls of Kansas.

One of the more unusual woods that he created in was poison ivy.
